Signs of wall failure can show up differently depending on whether the home has a concrete block or poured concrete walls. For this homeowner in Robards, KY, they were showing signs of bowing walls starting to take place. 

Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, came out to asses their foundation and together they designed a solution that would permanently stabilize their home's foundation. Our Foundation crew, Tad and Garrett, installed 10 PowerBrace's. The PowerBrace system allows the system to be tightened over time, stopping wall failure without invasive drilling or digging on the property. PowerBrace's state-of-the-art brackets were engineered to provide strong joint reinforcement while also protecting the integrity of the home's floor system. 

Mary L. from Slaughters, KY was experiencing water in her basement, especially when there was heavy rain. She would have her shop vac ready to clean up all the water. Countless hours were spent worrying about what would happen to her basement if she wasn't there because many important documents, as well as memories, were stored there. 

Upon receiving Mary's call for help, Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham was scheduled to do a thorough inspection of her basement. When he arrived, they greeted each other with a smile and the work began. He recommended that a new drainage system be installed to prevent any more leaking. This drainage system would be under the concrete, so it wouldn't be noticeable. It runs straight to the new TripleSafe sump pump that was also installed. The CleanSpace vapor barrier on the walls helps protect and keep the space dry, as well as prevent mold growth.

A homeowner in Madisonville, KY reached out to Healthy Spaces regarding water getting into the basement of her home. After calling Healthy Spaces for a free, no-obligation estimate, it was decided to install a TripleSafe sump pump in a different corner of the basement would be the choice in keeping her basement dry all the time.

Our crew first started with remediating all of the mold growing in the crawl space. The SmartSump will be an exit line for the water that gets into the crawl space. The CleanSpace encapsulation product is a 20mm white thick plastic lining that entirely seals off the crawl space from the harsh elements below. It keeps mold and moisture from growing on it as well and especially helps in hot summer months.

Drywall in a basement can pose a serious threat when installed because it's made of organic materials. Concrete is a porous material, so when you have concrete walls, moisture can seep through and on to the drywall. This can cause the drywall to distort and warp, and even worse, can cause mold to grow.
