Vapor Barrier Installation in Bailey Island, Maine

We met with homeowners in Bailey Island, Maine who were interested in having a vapor barrier installed in their crawl space. We recommended CleanSpace with drainage matting, our two-step encapsulation system that controls groundwater and seals moisture out of the space. Lastly, we installed Spray Foam insulation on the walls and rim joists. Spray Foam is water and mold resistant, while also providing energy savings, making it a great option for crawl spaces!

Cold Floors and Moldy Smells Be Gone!

Open crawlspaces lead to the elements coming in and wrecking the health of a home leading to mold and cold floors. In worse cases, wood can begin to rot, leading to thousands and thousands of dollars in repair. Moldy crawlspaces can affect not only the health of the home but those living in the home as well. This Bartlett, NH homeowner was worried about the health of their family and wanted to take care of their Crawlspace as soon as possible, making sure the air they are breathing is fresh and clean.

System Design Specialist Sam Crowley met with the homeowner and put together a list of their goals, and together they designed a crawlspace system that would accomplish their goals. The system started with CleanSpace and drainage matting with Spray Foam on the rim joists. To make sure water wouldn’t be a problem, they put in a TripleCrawl Sump Pump System that is connected to an exterior, buried Discharge Line that takes the water way from the home. Mold was an issue in this crawlspace, so Sam and the homeowner opted to put in a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This ensures that humidity never gets to a point where mold will grow. Together they built this system and ensured the health of the home for the future.

Musty Crawl Space Repair in Alton Bay, NH

New owners of this Alton Bay, NH home quickly realized the crawl space was humid and they could smell musty odors. We cleaned out the old fiberglass insulation that was damp and falling to prep the crawl space for encapsulation. First we install a layer of drainage matting on the ground that controls the groundwater, followed by our CleanSpace vapor barrier liner on top. CleanSpace seals out moisture, keeping the crawl space dry and protecting the joists and beams from wood rot. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists, keeping cold air out and adding another layer of protection against moisture since it is water resistant. Lastly, we installed a SmartJack support for a beam that was starting to sag.
