A homeowner in Somerset, MA gave us a call because they needed their crawl space to be reinsulated and sealed off due to it being negatively impacted by the outside environment. One of our inspectors, Andy, drew up a plan that would protect the space from weather and our foreman, MJ, and his crew brought the plan to life. The crew started by removing any old insulation and debris that shouldn't be in the space. Then they laid down drainage matting over the dirt floor of the crawl space to allow water to flow under and out instead of pooling inside. They insulated the walls of the space with our SilverGlo wall insulation which regulates temperature much more efficiently than fiberglass insulation and it doesn't deteriorate over time. Then the crew fully encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier which seals off the space from being affected by weather.
