Kara bought this Muskegon home just a couple days before water started leaking into her basement due to the snow. The water was coming in where the floor and walls meet in 2 areas. We had a solution for her to keep her basement dry. We first installed the WaterGuard system which is a French drain that is installed under the floor but above the foundation so it does not clog. The drain collects water that seeps into the basement from cracks and sends it to the sump pump to be expelled outside the home. We also installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which has three levels of protection in case of a pump malfunction or a power outage which gives home owners peace of mind that the area will be dry. Next we installed the CleanSpace Wall System which keeps water vapor from passing through your foundation walls and directing it to your sump pump. The syste also has an anti-microbial protection built right in so no mold or mildew will grow on the CleanSpace! Lastly we installed the SaniDry XP which has a powerful motor that keeps dry air circulating throughout the space to dry out the area. The collected water can be drained into a sump pump pit or a section of your perimeter drain. The best part is that this model of dehumidifiers can be stores in a corner or closet so it won't interfere with a finished basement.

Matt in Muskegon gave us a call saying that water was beginning to get into his basement with large rain falls. After going out for our free inspection, we realized that he had a drainage issue. To fix this, we installed our WaterGuard.

WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system that is placed on top of the footing. Most perimeter drainage systems are placed alongside the footing, but doing it that way makes it susceptible to mud getting in and clogging it. Being on top of the footing is a huge advantage, because it is no longer sitting in the mud; it's on top of it, which obviously makes it much harder for mud to get in.

As you can see, to start out we have to jackhammer out the trench where the WaterGuard will fit into. After this, we place drainage stone above the footing to help aid the waterproofing process. 

Once the WaterGuard is installed, we then fill the trench back up with concrete, making the drain virtually invisible, and completely out of the way.
