Water was entering Mecca’s basement so she called our team. We replaced her old window with an egress window. Due to poor insulation around the window, most windows offer minimal protection against outside air entering the home. Egress windows help ventilate your indoor areas and prevent unwanted allergens from entering your house.

Looking to totally seal his crawl space, Kyle called our team. So in order to prevent air flow from his crawl space to the rest of his home, our team insulated his rim joists. Small cracks and seams can exist around rim joists, but after insulating them all of those cracks are sealed off. With airtight insulation there is a reduction in heat loss.

The homeowners in Albion, MI had a vertical crack on one of their basement walls going from ceiling to floor. When it rained, water would leak through the crack, get into their basement, and puddle on the floor. Foundation wall cracks can be a sign of structural issues so it is best to get the crack repaired right when you notice it is there to prevent serious, more costly damage. 

To fix this vertical wall crack, our professional team installed FlexiSpan. FlexiSpan is a three part process beginning with flexible sealant being applied along the length of the crack. The second step is to put a a strip of flexible and porous foam over the crack. Lastly, an impermeable membrane is adhered to the wall on both sides of the foam strip. FlexiSpan invisibly moves water seepage from the crack down the wall and into the basements perimeter drainage system. The FlexiSpan system is not affected by slight movements in the basement wall meaning it works under all conditions. 

In the before picture you can see the vertical cracking on the basement wall and in the after picture you can see the FlexiSpan installed over the crack and fixing the wall.  

These Albion homeowners have had this home for about 3 weeks and have noticed there is water in one of the rooms in the basement. The partially finished basement has even had some standing water in the room where the water is leaking in. To waterproof the home we used the WaterGuard Below Floor Drain and the TripleSafe Sump Pump System. The WaterGuard collects the water that seeps in through the foundation and sends it to the sump pump. The TripleSafe provides three levels of protection in case of a power outage and gives the homeowners a peace of mind.

With water coming from the corner of the basement AND around the window, this customer was at her wit's end trying to fix the leak and resulting mold. She had already tried everything from a window well cover to backfilling the area outside to reduce the leakage with no luck. Then she called Ayers.

We installed a SuperSump system and Everlast Window as well as a WellDuct window drain to direct all of the water to our WaterGuard floor drain system, and now her basement is dry and mold-free.
