Aaron and Kacy suspected their unfinished Michigan basement was causing their son's severe allergies in their Akron, MI, home. Their crumbling block foundation showed clear signs of moisture intrusion, leading to mold, musty odors, and poor air quality. They called Ayers for a professional basement encapsulation to create a healthier home. Our team installed a CleanSpace® vapor barrier, drainage matting, and a SaniDry® dehumidifier to seal out moisture and allergens. Their home in the Michigan thumb area is drier, healthier, and safer, giving their son much-needed relief.
Justin was putting a bedroom into his basement and needed to add an exit for safety precautions. He contacted us at Ayers Basement System and set up an appointment. After inspecting his home, the team determined where the window would go! The egress window was later installed and looked fantastic! Additionally, he opted to install a Rockwell window cover to provide a watertight seal and stop debris from getting in the well! Justin was thrilled with how the job turned out!
Shadows called Ayers because she was hoping for help replacing the window well for her Egress Window with something heavier. Our crew decided to install our heavy-duty Rockwell Premier Series Tan lid and Egress Window Rockwell Cover for it. We installed our well with steps in it and a cover to ensure a safe exit for Shadow's family in the case of an emergency. This system is more efficient and once the lid is attached, it will prevent debris or outside critters from infesting the area. Shadow was happy to receive professional help. She loved the new, more attractive Egress Window cover!
Austin in West Bloomfield, MI, struggled with severe basement water intrusion for two years, leading to damage and the loss of valuable collectibles. To protect his home, we installed a WaterGuard® drainage system, CleanSpace® wall system, and a TripleSafe™ sump pump. Now, his basement stays dry, giving him peace of mind and protecting his belongings from future water damage.
The problem with block basement walls is that they can easily sprout leaks. The block allows vapor and actual water to seep through, which can stain and water damage walls. That's exactly what happened to this restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie (see before picture). When the owner decided to waterproof the floor, he realized it was as good a time as any to fix up the walls as well.
Our BrightWall panels were the perfect solution. The paneling was attached directly on top of the previously stained walls, and it's clear that the white plastic is a much better look for the basement. On top of that, the basement walls are now completely waterproof. Water vapor and moisture may pass through the porous block walls, but they won't make it through the BrightWall paneling. Any water that does seep through the block walls will be drained into the restaurant's new perimeter drainage system and discharged outside. A good restaurant atmosphere usually refers to the actual dining area, but that's no reason why the rest of the place shouldn't look its best too. Give us a call if you'd like to see what BrightWall could do for your basement as well.
To ensure professional installation and superior service we carefully created an international network of over 350 trusted basement contractors.
