Our Foreman, Cole Brinkman, and his production team started the project by installing 1,431 feet of drainage matting, which gives the water that floods into the crawl space a channel underneath the crawl space liner. It is a useful piece of material in the process to keep any crawl space dry. Next, Cole and his team installed 1,596 feet of our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, which keeps away odors, mold, termites, cockroaches, mice, and other pests that need excess moisture to survive. Radon is an invisible, odorless, colorless gas that is emitted from the breakdown of the soil around your home's foundation. It creeps into your home through small holes or cracks in the foundation and silently wreaks havoc on lung tissue. Ryan went on to say that radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer, claiming 21,000 lives each year in the United States. Going back to the test, Ryan explained to the homeowner that the purpose of this test was to record radon levels in the house over 48 hours, delivering an average result when the test concluded. Ryan went on to say that, should the results come back higher than 4 pCi/L, he would strongly recommend the installation of a radon mitigation system. Ryan explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He finished by saying that, when installed by an experienced professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health safety agencies. The homeowner liked Ryan's comprehensive approach and solution, and decided to sign on the spot. 

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dakota, and his team were able to seamlessly place the system in the home. Now, our customer is thrilled to know that he no longer has to worry about dangerous radon gas!

Next, Jackson shifted his focus to encapsulating the crawl space. To encapsulate the space, Jackson used Drainage Matting and CleanSpace to encapsulate the damaged space. Once the crawl space was properly encapsulated, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew.
