A homeowner in Dunbarton, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for the past 30+ years. Since they purchased the home they had noticed the garage was settling a bit. Now 30+ years later they have seen the settling get worse and lead to cracks forming. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist examined the garage and recommended building a new masonry wall to stabilize the garage.

We recommended replacing the supports with our Helical Piers with Porch Brackets to support the roof over the porch. We installed 7 Helical Piers under the roof to straighten the roofline and add support to it. 

In Dunbarton, NH, we encountered a crawl space in need of serious attention. The aging wooden supports in the homeowner’s area were compromised due to moisture and high humidity, as visible in the before photo. We installed our SmartJack System to stabilize and lift the structure, laying the proper foundation with our steel bases and adjustable top brackets. The addition of CleanSpace Drainage Matting provided effective moisture control, and the CleanSpace system encapsulated the space for a clean, dry environment. The transformation successfully ensured a secure, lasting solution.

This early 20th century home in Concord, NH was originally built on large, loose field stone. Over the years, cinder blocks were added, beams were repaired, and temporary columns were placed throughout the basement space to assist in stabilizing the sinking floors.

Overtime, the floors and beams of the home settled and needed a more permanent solution to fix the problem. We installed 9 SmartJacks and some steel I-beams to strengthen the sagging floor and lift it back up a bit. This is a much more permanent solution with a 10 year warranty.
