Facing the challenge of water intrusion in their crawl space, a homeowner in Closter, NJ, turned to us for help. A homeowner in Poughkeepsie, NY had horrible humidity issues in their basement and needed an answer to their problems. That is exactly why they contacted our team here at The Basement Transformer. Our transformation specialist proposed that we install our CleanSpace Wall System on the basement walls to put an end to this issue. This special wall system is designed to block water vapor from passing through the walls of your foundation and is made to cover uneven surfaces such as jagged stone walls. It even comes with a 25-year warranty for wear and tears and has antimicrobial protection known as Ultra-Fresh built right into it! This wall system is strong, durable, and does not support mold or mildew growth. Unlike paints or sealants, this 100% waterproof plastic barrier will never chip, peel, or flake away either! Once the job was complete, the basement walls looked cleaner, brighter, and most importantly water vapor could no longer pass through them. This homeowner knew their basement would now be a safe and dry space.
This homeowner had just moved into their new house when they noticed something was visibly wrong with the crawl space. It appeared that an old waterproofing job had been done a long time ago, but it was no longer getting the job done. Moisture was very much an issue inside this area of the house. That’s why this homeowner in Rhinebeck, NY contacted The Basement Transformer to help them transform their crawlspace.
Our crew started by installing our drainage matting onto the floor before laying down the encapsulation barrier. This drainage matting gives water a way to move around underneath and evaporate on top of the mat if needed. It creates a permanent seal over top of the crawlspace floor, preventing water from coming inside.
The CleanSpace Encapsulation System was then installed on top of the drainage matting. It is a 20-mil reinforced polymer liner that helps to prevent mold growth, rotting wood, and pest infestations. Water intrusion is truly no match for this encapsulation system.
To keep the air dry & safe, we also installed our amazing SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. It can remove dust mites and mold spores, all while keeping the humidity levels under control. It will even shut off to conserve energy once the desired level of humidity has been reached.
This crawlspace was safe and could withstand moisture with no problems once our crew had completed the job!
Typical crawl space doors are made with painted wood panels. They're usually held on by metal nails or hinges. However, wood rots and metal rusts, and when they're installed on your home, they quickly begin to fall apart.
The EverLast™ Crawl Space Door is the answer to this problem. Made entirely out of completely inorganic plastics and foams, they are the best solution for the problems associated with crawl space doors.
Once installed on your crawl space, EverLast™ doors create an airtight, waterproof seal between your crawl space and the cold or humid air outside.
