The floors above this basement in Falmouth, KY, were sloping and sagging. This was not only resulting in loud creaking sounds for the inhabitants of the home when they walked across the floorboards, but it was also causing gaps to appear between the walls and floors upstairs. After inspecting the basement, our team found that several of the existing support posts were no longer providing adequate support to the main beams. We added our adjustable SmartJacks posts to permanently stabilize and lift the floor joist system. Once installed, the floors were level again, the creaking stopped, and the upstairs gaps closed up, restoring the home's comfort and stability.

This chimney in Pleasant Hill, Ohio was showing signs of settlement, creating both structural concerns and visible separation from the home. Using two helical piers, we stabilized & lifted the chimney foundation, which puts the chimney back up against the home and halts further movement. The "before" photo show the misalignment caused by the settling, while the "after" image highlights a secure, reinforced foundation and restored alignment. A clean, lasting solution to a serious problem.

The wall in this basement in California, KY, was not only leaking, it was also actively bowing inwards. Our Inspector was easily able to diagnose both issues just by looking at the moisture stained paneling system and the ceiling panels, which were all out of whack due to the wall shifting inwards. We waterproofed this wall by installing our WaterGuard subfloor drains at the base of the wall, and then we connected the drains to our SuperSump Plus sump pump system, (which was attached with our battery backup system). We then covered the wall with our CleanSpace vapor barrier to drain any moisture that may transfer through the porous concrete down into our subfloor system. To stabilize the moving wall, we braced it with our PowerBraces. These braces are made of galvanized steel, and they can be tightened throughout time to straighten the wall back out. This homeowner was happy with the outcome.

This home in Dayton, OH, was going on the housing market, but the seller wanted to fix their sinking porch problem first. The seller had their project manager contact our Real Estate Specialist, Donny, to figure out a solution. Donny drew up a relatively simply plan - we would stabilize the sinking pillar with two helical piers, and then try and lift the pillar back up with our hydraulics. As you can see, we achieved a pretty good lift, and we were able to close the gap between the concrete pillar and the porch slab. We then covered the piers, (that are latched underneath the porch footer and reach deep into load-bearing strata) with soil, leaving the system completely concealed. The main beam in the ceiling of this basement had become warped from excessive use. To add extra support and to stop the floors from sagging from the floor above, we installed SmartJacks and a supplemental beam across the main beam. The result was a success.
