This homeowner was having problems with their chimney sinking away from the home. Often times, chimneys have their own foundation and are very heavy, making them sink into the ground. We installed helical piers at the base of the chimney, and raised the base back to where it originally was installed. The main beam in the ceiling of this basement had become warped from excessive use. To add extra support and to stop the floors from sagging from the floor above, we installed SmartJacks and a supplemental beam across the main beam. The result was a success. 

The outside brick on this home was cracking in a stair-step pattern. This happens when a house settles because the first place to crack is the weakest point in the structure. In this case, the mortar between the brick was the weakest link, so it was the first sign to show. We stabilized the sinking foundation by lifting the house back with our helical pier system. This basement wall in Owensville, OH, had started to bow inward due to hydrostatic pressure pushing against it from the outside soil. The movement was beginning to cause cracks and visible staining along the surface. To permanently stabilize the wall, we installed our PowerBrace Wall Repair System, which uses heavy-duty steel beams to support and gradually straighten the wall over time.
