Challenge: Access doors or open vents in a crawl space is one of the areas where the outside environment enters and affects an entire home.
Solution: A sealed crawl space access is one of the many things we do when encapsulating a crawl space. We also installed a well for improved access and drainage.
Challenge: This crawl space could be described as “high and dry”... but the dirt floor and lack of insulation on the exterior walls made the home’s floor cold during the winter months.
Solution: We completely sealed the crawl space from the outside environment, and added spray foam insulation. Spray foam offers a high R-value, sealing air leaks and also serving as a moisture barrier.
Before:
Do you see signs of excess humidity in your crawl space? Rusted ductwork or metal is a clear sign!
After:
The home was showing clear signs the dirt crawl space had high humidity. The humidity creates a situation that leads to rust, mould growth and structural problems in the wood. Advanced Basement Systems installed Clean Space encapsulation to enclose the crawl space and prevent moisture from entering the space. The full system including a dehumidifier and spray foam will continue to protect the home for years to come.
Call Advanced Basement Systems if you have rust on the structures or or heating components in your basement or crawl space.
Before:
An unfinished dirt floor crawl space with no insulation on the walls can result in cold floors in the winter and higher humidity in the summer. This condition could impact the structure of the home and more energy use to condition the air.
After:
Advanced Basement Systems installed their Clean Space encapsulation system to seal in the area away from the dirt. When spray foam insulation is added up the walls and into the header, the result will give the home owners warmer floors, lower energy bills and provide a much healthier home.
If your floors are cold in the winter and home is humid in the summer you may have a crawl space issue. Give Advanced Basement Systems a call to schedule an inspection and quote for repairs!
