This basement window sat at ground level and water would come back towards it, which had allowed ground water to enter the basement for many years. The water intrusion was not only frustrating to the homeowner, it was also on track to eventually cause substantial destruction to the integrity of the basement wall in the future. The owner of the home called John's after hearing that we were the leading experts in home Waterproofing in her area. We scheduled her with our Design Specialist, and let her know that he would offer her a No-Obligation Free Estimate! She was thrilled to hear this, and was looking forward to hearing his Proposed Solution. After he arrived and performed his inspection, he approached her with his solution. He recommended installing a custom built concrete window well, to prevent ground water from leaking into the basement with a full waterproofing system. She agreed with this solution, and signed the job proposal. Our crew of experts arrived soon after to begin the work. First, they dug out a portion of dirt around the window to make room for the new well. Next, they built the Window Well Form, poured the concrete into it, and allowed it to harden. After removing the form, they filled the Well in with Decorative Pea Gravel, leaving a nice finished appearance. Within the basement we than installed a full waterproofing system with drainage, sump pump, wall system, and a dehumidifier. The devastating future affects of ground water intrusion and damage into this basement will no longer be an issue, thanks to the concrete window well constructed by the experts here at John's!
In this home, water had been leaking in the basement walls every time it rained. They had our inspector come out to look and explore what options they had to fix the water issues. Our crews installed our WaterGuard system which is an interior drainage system that goes along the basement wall. When finished it is unseen and drains to a sump pump to pump the water out and away from the home. Along with the WaterGuard, we installed ThermalDry Wall that helps insulate the basement by reflecting heat back in. It also works along with the drainage system and is made of inorganic materials so that it cannot mold and will protect your walls from moisture damage. The homeowner was happy with the work and was ready to move on to remodeling his basement for full functional use.
This crawlspace was full of dirt and water and caked-on silt from where water had previously been. Lynn replaced the vapor barrier, installed a sump pump and dehumidifier to make the space dry and functional.
The season was warming up, and this homeowner kept thinking about planned power outages. The heat from not having a cooling system, the spoiled food, the loss of electronics in everyday life... so they called up John's Electrical. They wanted to have a Cummins whole home generator installed. We had our electrical and plumbing division sent out and we hooked up the generator. This machine will keep their entire home running when the power is interrupted. After checking over the system and all of its features, this project was completed.
