These homeowners noticed a musty odor coming into their home. Growing concerned, they went and checked their crawl space and found puddles of water, and felt the humid air that was festering under the home. They wanted a permanent solution to this problem so they reached out to us and scheduled their free visit. We went out and thoroughly inspected the crawl space and worked with the homeowners to create plan that will guarantee a dry, healthy and stable home. We start by removing all of the debris, fiberglass insulation and old vapor barrier. Next, we dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space in which we install a 3 inch perforated pipe into a silt sock that secures a safe passage for water to drain to the lowest point in the crawl space. Then, at this low point we install our SuperSump plus. This will collect all of the water and pump it outside of the home, away from the foundation through a discharge line. We then seal all of the vents shut to prevent outside air from entering. We cover the dirt floor with our TerraBlock system, which will provide an insulated barrier between the home and the earth and will prevent moisture from making its way up through the crawl space floor. We anchor our 20 mil-thick-liner, CleanSpace, directly into the foundation walls, up to the rim joists. It is laid on top of all of the TerraBlock system and sealed with our waterproof tape at the footing of the wooden posts. Our CleanSpace is backed with a 25 year warranty against rips and tears. To keep the environment controlled, we then install our SaniDry Sedona. This effective dehumidifier will eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air as well as keep the home at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly, we finish this project by installing our foam insulation. This is sprayed onto the foundation walls, filling every crack and void ultimately providing an airtight seal.
This home had a DIY Sump Pump that ended up clogged, to address this to keep the home dry and healthy we installed a SmartSump pump, drainage system, and a 6 Mil vapor barrier.
This crawlspace had water logged insulation, pooling water, and needed help. To solve this issue we installed a full drainage system to divert water to a TripleSafe Sump Pump and out and away from the foundation. We then laid down a new 6 Mil vapor barrier.
After years of having to get the fiberglass insulation re-stapled up in their crawlspace, these homeowners were ready for a solution that made sense. They asked around and heard about Johns Crawlspace Encapsulation. After doing some research and meeting with a seasoned design specialist they were ready to move ahead! They enjoy how bright their crawlspace is, and are excited that it will truly insulate their homes foundation, effectively lowering their energy bills.
This homeowner knew that fiberglass absorbed water if left open to the elements. Trying to get around this, they attached a vapor barrier to the underside of their home, encasing the insulation. However water vapors still got in, and caused a mold issue. After having a mold company out, they were pointed to John's Waterproofing to keep the space dry and healthy with an encapsulation.
