Water was infiltrating in the joint between the floor and the wall in this basement in Bon-Conseil.
The floor under the floor slab was getting wet, which was evaporating and moistening the concrete, leaving traces. When traces of water are visible, it is because the water has found a way to penetrate your basement.
We solved the problem by installing an interior waterproofing solution consisting of an inside drain that we install on the perimeter of the foundation on the footing, as well as a sump pump system that evacuates the collected water far from your home.
Below you can find the before and after pictures of this job.
To repair a crack in a concrete wall effectively and permanently, it is necessary to use a product that will not harden and crack again. When this crack is not a structural problem, we seal it with a product called FlexiSpan.
First, we plug the crack with urethane to block water infiltration and close the crack. Then, the first sealant of polyurethane ether foam is applied to drain the water that is found inside to the dry well.
Finally, the FlexiSpan sealant is made of polyurethane and is a gray color. It is a product that once affixed, becomes rubbery. This allows the crack not to let the water penetrate the basement even if it increases with time. The well is closed to finalize the project.
Another dry basement and a repaired crack!
This project, carried out in Sainte-Eulalie, Quebec, addressed the main issues faced by our client, including water infiltration in the basement, excessive moisture, musty odors, water accumulation near the foundation, drainage problems, and a damp crawlspace. To provide long-term protection for the property, our team installed a comprehensive water management and moisture control solution that included the WaterGuard® interior drainage system designed to effectively capture and remove water seeping through the foundation as well as the CleanSpace® system, which seals and protects the crawl space against moisture, water vapor, and contaminants.
The SuperSump® pumping system was also installed to ensure reliable water removal and reduce the risk of basement overflow or flooding. Exterior protection has been enhanced with the IceGuard® system, which helps keep the discharge pipe functioning during freezing conditions, as well as the LawnSpace® system, which effectively diverts water away from the foundation. Finally, the SaniDry™ Sedona® helps control humidity levels and improve indoor air quality by creating a drier, healthier, and more comfortable environment for occupants.
In Kingsbury, Quebec, a homeowner experienced persistent water infiltration and elevated moisture levels within the basement, primarily due to a clogged French drain system. To remediate the issue, our team implemented a comprehensive basement waterproofing solution including our WaterGuard interior drainage system installed beneath the concrete floor slab, adjacent to the footing. WaterGuard offers a non-clogging, maintenance-efficient alternative to conventional drainage methods.
This system was further reinforced by the application of CleanSpace Wall which serves to isolate the basement from ground moisture, minimizing humidity and potential mold proliferation.
Water infiltration, cracked or leaning foundation walls, excessive moisture, and cold basements are common problems that can compromise a property’s comfort and value. For this home in Saint-Felix-De-Kingsey, our team carried out a comprehensive project to provide a lasting solution to these issues.
First, we installed the WaterGuard® interior drainage system, designed to capture water from around the foundation before it reaches the basement floor. The water is then efficiently drained away by the SuperSump® sump pump system, while the IceGuard® pipe ensures continuous drainage even when winter temperatures cause the exterior outlet to freeze.
To improve basement comfort and minimize heat loss, the walls were insulated with Foamax® panels. Made of high-performance polyisocyanurate foam, they reduce condensation, resist moisture thanks to their built-in vapor barrier, and provide a clean, bright finish. In addition, any moisture seeping in through the walls is discreetly channeled behind the panels to the drainage system, helping to keep the basement dry at all times.
The foundation walls were also reinforced using the PowerBrace™ system. This solution strengthens walls affected by soil pressure, stops them from shifting, and, in many cases, allows for gradual straightening over time.
Thanks to this work carried out in Saint-Felix-De-Kingsey, homeowners now have a basement that is better protected against water infiltration, moisture, foundation cracks, leaning walls, mold risks, and energy loss, while enjoying a more comfortable, healthier, and sustainable living space.
To ensure professional installation and superior service we carefully created an international network of over 350 trusted basement contractors.
