In this home located in Saint-Esprit, the crawl space exhibited several concerning signs: floors losing their stability, a strong sense of dampness throughout the house, and virtually no insulation beneath the structure. Over time, water accumulation and constant moisture had begun to weaken the structure and compromise indoor comfort.
Our team at Systèmes Sous-sol Québec therefore carried out a comprehensive intervention to address the issues at their source. A mat drainage system was first installed to control water at ground level and prevent it from pooling under the house. The crawl space was then encapsulated using the CleanSpace system to block moisture and create a much cleaner, more controlled environment.
To restore solid support to the structure, SmartJacks were added to stabilize the sagging floors. SilverGlo panels were also installed to improve the crawl space’s thermal performance and reduce heat loss.
The protection system was completed with a TripleSafe pump, an IceGuard, and an exterior drain line, ensuring reliable water drainage in all seasons, even during freezing conditions.
Today, this crawl space is not only drier and better insulated, but also much more stable and durable for years to come.
Mr. Moran over time noticed that there was a high level of humidity in his house, his wooden floors began to warp and an unpleasant smell of mold was circulating in the house. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec in order to have a permanent and reliable solution!
The problem
Well this is the crawl space!
- Water infiltration
- Lack of insulation
This made the crawl space very humid. The humidity affected the wooden floor causing it to curl slightly, causing this foul odor and affecting our client's comfort in their home.
The solution
- Insulate the walls of the crawl space with our SilverGlo insulating panels.
- Lay our drainage mat on the ground in order to drain the water from the surface to the SmartSump sump pump system that was in place.
- Install our CleanSpace coating designed to block humidity and thus insulate the floor of the house. It also gives a clean and bright appearance to the crawl space.
- Add our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier. It filters the air and eliminates moisture.
With this encapsulation solution, Mr. Moran will no longer have a problem with humidity and foul odor. It now has a dry crawl space!
