Leaky Basement in Boiling Springs, SC Leads to Installation of WaterGuard Drain and CleanSpace Wall

No homeowner is happy to find out that there is water getting into their basement. This frustration can be even worse when the area is finished or used for storage. Water getting into and onto items isn't the only destruction that can come from water intrusion. Another big issue with water intrusion is high moisture levels if they are too high mold can grow on any organic surface. This includes papers, blankets, cardboard boxes, and even furniture!

While this homeowner wasn't quite in that situation yet, this did have a partially finished basement that was getting water in it. Needless to say, this homeowner wanted to take care of the issue before it got any worse. So they gave All-Dry of the Carolinas a call to have one of our System Design Specialists come out to the home. We were able to figure out what needed to be done to address the water intrusion issues, as well as finding some signs of foundation issues that our Specialist had a great solution for.

However, the main focus of this before and after the set is to show the waterproofing system that our crew installed. The two main parts of the system are the WaterGuard drain and the CleanSpace Wall. The WaterGuard is a drain that actually is installed in the floor next to the wall. It has a flange that leaves a small gap between the floor and the wall (for water to get in). The water is then drained to the sump pump and pumped out of the home. The CleanSpace that covers the wall helps to catch any water or moisture that could come in through the wall.

Attached Storage Shed in Laurens, SC Has WaterGuard and SuperSump Installed

Although our business mainly focuses on basements and crawlspaces, it doesn't mean we aren't able to handle different circumstances. Now technically this area was a basement, but it was extremely small, only accessible from the outside and was used as a storage shed. Regardless of what it is or what it is called, it was a part of a customer's home that was having quite a bit of water getting in, so we fixed it up for them.

The first photo shows what the area looked like when one of our System Design Specialists went out to the home. The homeowner stored a lot of different things in this attached storage area, many of which could be damaged by the moisture in the area. The homeowner wanted this problem taken care of so he didn't have to worry about any damage being done, especially to his more expensive landscaping tools like the lawnmower.

The second photo shows the same area after the customer had removed some of the items and the shelving had also been moved. More importantly this photo shows off the system that was installed in the crawlspace of the home. The CleanSpace Liner that is covering a good portion of the walls helps to catch any water that comes through the walls and drain it to the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard then drains that water to the sump pump which can be seen in in the picture. The SuperSump then takes that water and pumps it out and away from the home.

Spartanburg, SC Basement with Water Issues Receives SuperSump and WaterGuard

During heavy rainstorms, this Spartanburg, South Carolina basement would leak in one corner. The water intrusion, of course, would come in and ruin the floors. The homeowners had actually contacted All-Dry of the Carolinas a few years ago, but they needed to hold off. Four years passed and they reached out to us again, now at their wit’s end.

We sent out our Design Specialist, Alex Rogers, to take a look around. He prowled around the basement—checking every crack and corner. After a thorough investigation of the space, he concluded that the home needed a SuperSump pump, our WaterGuard system, and a Lawnscape.

These three items work in conjunction to collect the water, funnel it away, and direct it out of the basement. Together, these items solved the owner’s water intrusion issue.
