Susan B. of Augusta, Georgia wanted to sell her home as quickly as possible, and she knew she had a few problems she must fix before the home inspection.  Calling Cantey Foundation Specialists, one of our trained Specialists inspected the issues that Susan was having, and he gave her the perfect solution.  Cantey could repair the rotten wood by replacing it with our treated lumber, and then installing a vapor barrier system that would make the crawl space look and feel clean and protected.  Susan was able to sell her home quickly after Cantey left a beautiful crawl space behind!

To stop moisture from passing through your floors and porous concrete walls, a crawl space vapor barrier should be installed. A durable liner will allow for servicemen to use the space without damage while transforming your crawl space into usable storage space. This is also the best time to install crawl space insulation on your walls or floors. Installing crawl space drainage matting underneath the crawl space liner will help direct water to the drainage system and sump pump.

Bill B. is a homeowner in Chapin, SC. Bill and his wife have lived in their home for some time now. Bill’s wife has COPD which stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. COPD is a disease that limits air flow and makes it hard to breath. The worse part about it is that it’s progressive which means it gets worse as time goes on. This is a daily struggle for Bill and his wife. Bill wanted to make everything as comfortable as he could for his wife in their home. He may not be able to control how clean the air is out in the world but it their home he has the power too. Bill knows that most of a home’s air supply comes from the crawl space, so he figured that’s where he would start. After hearing about Cantey’s CleanSpaces on the radio he decided to give us a call for a free inspection. Specialist John Adams came out to Bill’s home and completed the inspection. Afterwards, John explained to Bill that his home would be a great candidate for a CleanSpace because he also had a lot of standing water present and a CleanSpace would help eliminate that. He also recommended that Bill install Sump Pump and a Dehumidifier to pump that water out and dry the air to make it cleaner.
