After:
We installed the CleanSpace® wall system around the basement perimeter—sealing seams and mechanically fastening the liner to block vapor and channel wall moisture to the home’s drainage path. We also upgraded the pumping equipment to a TripleSafe® sump system with a primary pump, high-capacity secondary, and a battery-backup pump under a sealed lid with alarm.

Now the basement stays clean, dry, and ready for storage year-round—with peace of mind during outages.

Before the project, the homeowner in Crystal Falls, MI was dealing with recurring water seepage at the cove joint where the basement floor meets the walls, along with cold, damp foundation surfaces. During heavy rains and spring snowmelt, water tracked along the slab edge and collected in low areas, leaving efflorescence and a musty odor throughout the basement. After Sure-Dry completed the work, the basement was protected by a coordinated system that manages water at the walls, floor, and sump basin. Along the footing, a WaterGuard® interior French drain was installed to intercept groundwater and cove joint seepage before it can reach the floor surface. The walls were then lined with a CleanSpace® wall system to create a bright, durable vapor barrier that directs any wall moisture down into the drainage channel while improving the appearance and feel of the space. All collected water is routed to a new TripleSafe® sump pump system, providing multiple levels of pump protection in a sealed basin to handle everyday flow, high-demand events, and power outages.
The homeowner now has a drier, brighter, and more comfortable basement in Crystal Falls, MI, with groundwater, wall moisture, and sump discharge managed by an integrated waterproofing system designed for Upper Peninsula conditions.

WaterGuard captures seepage and channels it effectively to the SuperSump, providing a seamless drainage solution. The after photo shows the newly dry, revitalized basement, offering the homeowner clean and usable space. The WaterGuard® interior drainage system was placed around the perimeter of the basement to capture incoming water. This system directs water to the newly installed SuperSump® sump pump, which safely discharges it away from the home.
