This homeowner contacted us because of the standing water in her crawl space. Whenever it rained, water would stream right under the home into the crawl space through the block foundation. Once mold started to appear, she knew something had to be done.

Our team visited the home, and after eliminating the mold, we installed CleanSpace. This durable liner covers the floor and the walls and provides a barrier to moisture, allowing water to drain beneath the liner to the sump. CleanSpace is manufactured with an antimicrobial additive, so it also prevents mold from growing on the liner.

The last step to making this crawl space dry, was to add a SaniDry dehumidifier. This dehumidifier sits in the crawl space and wrings the air of moisture and drains directly to the sump pump, so the homeowner will never have to go in the crawl space to empty it. SaniDry also blows the dry air around the crawl space to dry the entire space.

CleanSpace helped make this crawl space dry and SaniDry keeps the air clean. Now the homeowners don’t have to worry about standing water and mold, but instead, they can relax knowing that that space is dry.

We received a call from a customer in Pewamo, Michigan. They told us that his basement had some water problems on the floor. We came to their property and gave them a free estimate, and decided to install many things including a SuperSump which will drain water out of the basement much better than their current waterproofing system. The SuperSump contains a pump stand (prevents clogging of any debris in the sump liner), pump alarm (for when the basement floods), and an airtight sump lid with a floor drain in it (helps water to go down but not air to come up).

This family cottage was recently passed down and the new owner decided her first change to the property would be to waterproof the crawl space. She noticed standing water was pooling and was concerned that the proximity of the cottage to the lake would cause it to happen again. Though when she called she was only looking for a sump pump, our system design specialist explained that if only a pump was installed the crawl space would still be at risk. That’s why when the crew went out they installed a full crawl space encapsulation to go along with the sump pump.

 It’s frustrating to have crawl space problems in the home you live in every day, but it’s equally frustrating to have them in a vacation home. This cottage up north in Kewadin, MI was a retreat for East Lansing, MI residents, so they knew they had to do something when they realized the crawl space of the cottage was damp and starting to get moldy.

Our team visited the cottage and got right to work encapsulating the crawl space. We added Terrablock insulation on the floors and SilverGlo insulation to the walls to keep the crawl space warm before installing CleanSpace. This durable liner will provide a barrier to moisture and the antimicrobial additive that’s manufactured into the liner will keep mold away. Adding a SaniDry dehumidifier to eliminate the moisture in the air was the last step to making this cottage nice and dry.

This basement in Kewadin, MI was experiencing some bowing so we installed our PowerBrace system to fix the problem. The PowerBrace can counteract bowing and help walls straighten to their original position by gradually tightening over time. The beams are attached to the ceiling and the foundation of the floor, shown in the after photo. The steel I-beams are zinc coated and never rot, allowing the basement to maintain a clean and finished look.
