Our customer called with a combination basement and crawl space that both had water problems. Encapsulating the crawl space first necessitated regrading it due to the large amount of dirt and debris that made it impossible to move through the space.
After grading, we used CleanSpace vapor barrier to encapsulate and protect the crawl space from moisture in the future, and added spray foam insulation to the walls to ensure total sealing.
Edward called our team to discuss encapsulation options for his crawl space. We installed CleanSpace, a plastic sheet material used as a vapor barrier to restrict all moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space. Not only does this system create an energy-efficient crawl space, but it also gives your crawl space a clean finish. This material will be applied to your floors and walls to create a sleek look and an uninterrupted barrier.
Our customer had an issue with a musty smell coming from their crawl space. This smell is usually from the presence of water vapor that can also cause mold and bacteria to grow. In addition to the smell, there was a small amount of water leaking into the crawl space from a pipe.
We installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier, SaniDry dehumidifier, and SmartSump sump pump. The combination of these products will alleviate water vapor in the space, getting rid of the musty smell, and draining any water that enters the space.
Ricardo was concerned about his damp, dirt floor crawl space. He knew a dirt floor wasn't keeping any water moisture out, so he researched his options and called Ayers for assistance. Our specialists visited his home, inspected the space, and recommended installing CleanSpace, an antimicrobial-lined vapor barrier. CleanSpace is applied uninterruptedly to the crawl space floors and walls to prevent moisture entry and is also designed to be walked and crawled on. Ricardo loves the new look of his crawl space!
Brent K. called because he wanted a permanent fix for his leaking crawl space. The crawl space was built in 1983 with brick foundation and although there were no cracks found, water was entering where the wall meets the floor. During times of heavy rain, the problem worsened and the sump pump within the space was unable to keep up with the amount of water.
To update the ineffective sump pump we installed the SmartSump sump pump system. This sump pump is specifically made for wet crawl space needs by collecting and pumping water out of the space automatically. The system includes a reliable liner and pump, an airtight lid to prevent water in the sump from evaporating into the space and a floor drain that will allow water to flow directly into the sump through the lid if a flood occurs. To alert the homeowner if the pump cannot keep up for some reason, this system also comes with an alarm system that will sound if this problem occurs.
Next we installed drainage matting that is placed underneath the CleanSpace liner. The dimpled surface on this matting helps water flow easily underneath the liner and directs it to the sump pump to be pumped out of the home.
Next we encapsulated the crawl space with the CleanSpace liner. This liner is waterproof and vapor proof to prevent moisture from entering the space through the brick walls or porous concrete floor. We sized the liner for the dimensions of the crawl space a secured it to the walls to prevent it from falling down. The material of the liner is extremely durable and includes an antimicrobial additive that prevents mold growth.
Brent now has a dry crawl space and is free of any worries.
