This Long Beach homeowner had a finished basement and wanted to install an Egress window. Egress windows create a safe exit in case of emergencies due to the size of the window and the window well which contain steps. The Egress windows also allow for an abundance of natural light to enter the space which gives off a welcoming feel and makes the room look larger!
This Winamac, IN customer was interested in having a new Egress window installed for a basement bedroom. The crew installed one of our energy efficient EverLast windows and accompanying well and cover. These products are made from inorganic plastic that promises not to rot, rust or crack like traditional metal windows and wells. Not only will this basement have a much brighter look to it, the window is also waterproof, making sure this room stays dry. Because after all, waterproofing is what we’re all about here at Ayers.
This old and outdated basement had so much potential. New WaterGuard perimeter waterproofing made sure the space was dry, CleanSpace wall coverings provide an economical mold and mildew resistant layer to brighten up the space, and new expertly installed egress windows allow more light in and provide an emergency escape in the event of a fire. These three things combine to make this space much more inviting and enjoyable, turning wasted space into usable square footage.

We were contacted by a homeowner because he wanted an egress window and well installed. Most windows offer minimal protection against outside air entering the home due to poor insulation around the window. Egress windows will help ventilate your home and prevent unwanted allergens from entering it. Also, these windows provide a safe exit in case of emergency, so they are required in finished basement living areas. In addition egress windows provide lots of natural light.
