This homeowner came to us with a pressing concern: they wanted to prevent their concrete cracks from worsening and preserve the integrity of their property. Having just moved in a month ago, they noticed that the cracks were already getting worse. Our inspection revealed that the driveway was being pushed into the house due to a phenomenon known as "Street Creep." This occurrence, caused by the expansion and movement of the road, exerted pressure on the foundation, leading to cracking and compression issues.
To address this issue comprehensively, we implemented a series of solutions. Firstly, we stabilized the back patio, lifted the pads at the garage, and elevated the sidewalk leading to the front door. By utilizing our trusted Polylevel system, we ensured that the driveway and sidewalk were stable and level. Next, we applied Nexus Pro, a premium concrete sealant, to fill the existing cracks and prevent them from expanding further.
In addition to these measures, we took preventative steps by employing CompressionGuards. These guards act as protective barriers against long-term damage to concrete driveways, garage slabs, and foundation walls. By replacing the traditional fiberboard expansion joints with our engineered expansion joints, we ensured that the concrete could flex and accommodate seasonal changes without compromising its integrity.
Their property is now safeguarded against further cracking and damage, allowing them to enjoy their new home for years to come.
Estel T. in South Sioux City, NE was looking to do some maintenance on his home. For a while now he been having problems with water leaking in his basement. Not wanting to deal with the cleanup and mess anymore, he decided it was time to investigate waterproofing solutions. After hearing about Thrasher’s reputation, he gave us a call.
System Design Jon Young went out to Estel’s home. He was able to identify that there was no waterproofing system in place. The crew installed WaterGuard, an interior basement drainage system. Also, to keep the walls dry, they encapsulated the areas with CleanSpace, so water would no longer come through. From start to finish Estel thought the process went smoothly and was happy not to have to worry about the water anymore.
These homeowners had lived in their home for over 60 years and throughout the years, they had dealt with water in their basement constantly. They had seen out trucks around their neighborhood and they thought that we would be able to help them fix this problem, so they gave us a call.
We sent Service Technician Austin Sharon to inspect the homeowners basement and determine where water was getting into their basement and determine what solutions would be best to fix this issue for years to come. Austin found that due to Carter Lake's high water table, every time the river would rise, the homeowners' basement would flood. He knew that a full perimeter solution was needed so that the homeowners could have a dry basement, so he called for an installation team. One of our installation teams came out to the home and installed full perimeter WaterGuard Drainage System along with 2 lateral lines, and 2 Super Sump Pumps.
The homeowners were very relieved that they do not have to deal with the water problem anymore. The can't wait to see what it's like to have the extra basement storage space now that it's usable. Check out the homeowner's new basement waterproofing solutions!

Linda and Louie E. are homeowners in Sioux City, IA and have felt the negative effects of a poor crawl space for years. During the winter, cold air would seep into the basement and the floors above. In the summer, hot and humid air would leak into the basement making it an uncomfortable living space to be in. Linda and Louie knew if these problems continued any longer, it would lead to more severe damage such as mold and rot. In addition, the crawl space was affecting the energy efficiency of their home making it more costly throughout the year. Linda and Louie were impressed with our thorough inspection and detailed solution to the problem. They believed our product was the best permanent solution and chose Thrasher because of our professionalism and reputation.
System Design Specialist Corey Little began the crawl space encapsulation by installing our SilverGlo insulation that reflects and traps heat within the space. It’s an effective radiant barrier that’s also resistant to mold to keep the home energy efficient. The team also applied rim joists to seal all gaps and prevent air from escaping upward. To complete the encapsulation, they covered the entire crawl space in our CleanSpace waterproof liner to control humidity and prevent warm or cold air from entering through pipes and vents.
Linda and Louie were more than pleased with the efficiency of our team throughout the duration of the project and our dedication to the quality of the solution we provided. They were thrilled with the result and are liberated moving forward knowing this issue won’t occur again.
