Any water that enters the space is directed towards the drain, where it enters a special ball-and-cup design. It is laid on the crawl space floor and fastened to the walls six inches above the outside grade (to direct any moisture entering through the cinderblock down to the earth) and wrapped around piers. All seams are overlapped and sealed to isolate the crawl space off from the earth's moisture. 

Water Guard is an excellent solution for unwanted water in a basement.  This Marshall VA home had excessive water coming in through the foundation and walls.  Jackhammering out a channel in the concrete floor allows for Water Guard to be buried and then covered over with a fresh layer of cement.  A dry basement with reduced moisture and humidity in the air is the end result.
