1. What is common in most areas of the state, especially in early August and September is the threat of thunderstorms which often cause destructive tornadoes, large hail & severe floods.
2. When floods hit your area, your basement is most likely to be the prime targets for water damage, simply because it is the lowest lying area of your home.
3. If you allow it to be wet, moldy, humid, smelly, and unhealthy, you're abandoning an entire floor of space in your home. Additionally, the basement air - filled with odors, dust mite feces, humidity, and mold spores - will rise into the rest of the house, ruining the healthy environment of the home.
If you're looking for a permanent solution to your basement leak or flood problem, you've come to the right place. We've helped thousands of homeowners with basements and crawl space moisture problems of all types throughout Virginia.
Basement Systems has 27 patented basement waterproofing and crawl space encapsulation products that have been designed specifically for your basement or crawl space. Among the products they install are the patented WaterGuard french drain waterproofing system and the world's best sump pumps. We also install basement window products such as the SunHouse Window Well (as seen on HGTV's I Want That show), and also the most powerful basement dehumidifier (The SaniDry Basement Air System), basement wall, basement floor and sub flooring, and much more!

Comment: Water coming in through bulkhead or basement foundation
Project Location: Eastlake Ct, Sterling, VA 20165
Comment: I have recently installed a new pump along with a Basement Watchdog backup system. The pump runs when it rains but it only runs for 1 to 2 seconds and pushes about a quart of water out of the discharge pipe. The pit does have some mud in it. I'm concerned because I don't want the pump to burn up from not running long enough, my yard looks like a lake and I don't know how to route the discharge far enough away from the house. Need someone with experience to give me an opinion without raking me over the coals. The contractor that installed the pump was more of a plumber than a sump pump/drainage specialist and they had a hard time and charged me too much.

Comment: My sump pump keeps working 24 hours or some times 48 hours after a heavy rain. I am thinking my house is built in a place where the water table rises when it rains bringing too much water into my sump pit. want to see if we can verify my theory and mitigate it.

Comment: Purchasing a home. Has 2 sump pumps, one inside and one outside. Inside is lacking float (pump works) and dehumidifier. Probably want to replace inside with full system including battery backup and dehumidifier. Outside we probably just want a basin cover.
