Richland, IN homeowner Erin T. knew her crawl space wasn't in the best shape when she bought her home a few years ago. One of our System Design Specialists, Mike McAtee, came to the rescue! He did a thorough inspection of Erins crawl space and sat down with her to discuss what he found. First of all, mold. This is what was causing the musty odor in her home. He recommended sending our mold crew out to remediate it, and she agreed. Along with that, he recommended having her crawl space encapsulated with CleanSpace. This durable, bright white crawl space liner installs on the walls and floors, preventing water vapor and humidity from passing through. By keeping your crawl space dry, you protect your structure and insulation from mold and rot.

Homeowner John R. of Owensboro, KY needed a solution for his damp, dirty crawl space. Over the years, the space had become a mess, sending unwanted smells into their home above. After consulting a neighbor, they made a call to Healthy Spaces and System Design Specialist, Auston Bruder provided him with a free inspection. 

The mold and crawl space crews were able to remediate the mold and encapsulate the crawl space using our CleanSpace liner. This transformed the crawl space into a dry, bright usable area beneath their home. John doesn't notice any nasty smells coming from his crawl space anymore and is very pleased with the way his project turned out. 

Richard G. from Utica, KY was having water issues in his home. Granted, his home was over 100 years old. It was built in 1904 and the water issues were just getting worse as time went on. One of his friends had used our services and recommended us. Richard picked up the phone and scheduled a free inspection.

System Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, did a thorough inspection of Richard's basement and pinpointed the problems he saw. Richard agreed to the plan that Damon had come up with, and our production team did the rest. A WaterGuard system was installed to run any intruding water straight to the new TripleSafe sump pump. The water would then run outside from the discharge lines of the sump pump. A CleanSpace vapor is a heavy, durable, plastic liner that provides a vapor barrier while also draining water behind it and dramatically brightens the basement.

In Utica KY, a homeowner needed waterproofing to be done in their crawl space. Although thin plastic was laid throughout the crawl space, it does not guarantee that it will not rip and form holes. In the past, it has been popular to lie down thin (such as 6 mils.) of plastic on crawl space floors. Over time, as the thin sheet of plastic is ripped, the plastic becomes ineffective. When part of the soil is exposed out of the plastic liner, it becomes vulnerable to water and air. 

To solve the soil being exposed, we waterproofed the crawl space with the CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System. The CleanSpace is a more durable option than a regular liner since it is constructed of multiple layers of plastics with different characteristics of flexibility and puncture and tear resistance. Another benefit of having CleanSpace installed is the odorless and safe antimicrobial additive that is manufactured into the material. This means that it prevents mold growth on the liner. Once the CleanSpace was put in, it gave the crawl space a second chance to flourish in a healthy way.  

This Central CIty, KY crawlspace was experiencing seasonal flooding, mold growth, and poor energy efficiency.  The homeowners had been looking for a permenant solution to the flooding and mold issues.  They knew that unless they could reduce the relative humidity, remove the excess groundwater from the crawlspace, and isolate their home from outside humidity.  The best solution is to use a waterproofing drainage system with powerful sump pump and overlay the system with CleanSpace.

CleanSpace is a rugged, multi-layer plastic liner, similar to a pool liner.  It is guaranteed against rips, tears, and water on top of the liner when installed with a drainage system for 25 years.  In fact, CleanSpace is so durable that pests can't pentrate it and it's safe to climb over and use for proper storage.  

CleanSpace is an engineered film--blue on one side and white on the other.  The white side reflects the crawlspace light to brighten the area and make it easier to see what you're storing.
