Owning a home with a regularly flooding basement, this Forest City, ME homeowner decided it was time to have some done to put an end to this flooding once and for all. To achieve this goal, they hired us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and our crew got to work providing this homeowner the permanent solution they were looking for. To trap water leaking in through the foundation before it could reach the surface of the basement floor, WaterGuard piping was buried within the floor perimeter. The WaterGuard will capture the moisture and guide it to the newly installed TripleSafe sump system to remove the water from the basement. The water is pumped from the home through a PVC discharge line where it passes through an IceGuard pipe segment on the exterior of the home. This piece of specialty piping protects against blockages in the line such as ice and releases any built-up water before it is able to reach back into the interior of the basement to cause more flooding.

Now when it rains, this homeowner can expect their basement to remain dry with their new WaterGuard piping system in place. These waterproofing measures will keep this Forest City, ME basement dry for years into the future!

This homeowner living in Princeton, ME was in dire need of a waterproofing system below their home. The leakage had gotten so bad, the homeowner couldn’t even walk on their basement floor without covering their feet with water. After seeing us on their TV and contacting our Wells office, we were able to set this homeowner up with a free estimate. When our installation crew got to work on the basement, they began by excavating the old concrete slab to replace it with new one. The new slab came equipped with WaterGuard piping laid around the exterior edge, but beneath the surface. These pipes will collect any moisture entering through the foundation from now-on and guide the collected water to the TripleSafe sump pump installed nearby. The TripleSafe will now force any water out of the out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Lastly, a CleanSpace wall system was put in surrounding the basement interior. This will brighten up the space as well as providing a barrier against any moisture that might enter through the walls of the basement.

With proper waterproofing below their home, this homeowner can not make use of their basement again. The WaterGuard piping will keep this floor water-free for years down the road!

A Vanceboro, ME homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems because they had water seeping into their basement. Our System Design Specialist Craig Z. met with the owner to give them a free estimate on repairs.

Around the perimeter walls of the basement, WaterGuard was installed to channel the water to a TripleSafe Sump Pump with an UltraSump Battery Back-Up. The inclusion of the UltraSump Battery Back-Up is important to keep water out of the basement even during power outages, which tend to be very common in Maine during storms. Once the water gets to the TripleSafe Sump Pump, it has to go somewhere. A discharge line is connected and fitted with IceGuards to prevent freezing and then the line is buried. Water is taken away from the home where it is no longer a problem. To keep the discharge line from being clogged, a LawnScape Outlet is fitted to the end of the pipe to prevent anything from entering the discharge line. To take care of any humidity in the basement, a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier is set up with an additional line attached to the TripleSafe Sump Pump so the homeowner doesn't have to go into the basement to empty buckets of water. 

We provided a free estimate for new homeowners in Meddybemps, Maine who discovered they had water coming into their basement through foundation cracks. They wanted to keep their new investment protected and ensure the basement would be dry all the time. We installed BrightWall which is a wall paneling system that provides a vapor barrier to protect the basement from water seeping in. BrightWall is very durable and easy to clean, and gives the basement a fresh appearance. WaterGuard drainage was installed around the perimeter, along with TrenchDrain in the high traffic areas. A new TripleSafe sump pump will manage the groundwater, pumping it away through an exterior buried discharge line. Spray Foam insulation was installed along the rim joists to improve energy, and as an added vapor barrier. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier keeps the basement dry by controlling the humidity, and also has a MERV 8 filter to remove allergens, like mold spores, from the air. These new homeowners can relax and enjoy the basement knowing it's fully protected and dry.
