This water heater is raised up on a slab to protect it in the case of a flood but what would happen if the water tank itself were to flood the basement? It's not a problem now because of the WaterGuard that goes around that slab. 

The home owner in Taunton, Massachusetts had one problem area in their basement and finally wanted it taken care of by a professional. They had tried fixing the crack multiple times on their own but decided it was time to get the repair done. Our system design specialist Jay Hanrahan proposed a FlexiSpan system to prevent the water from seeping through the crack. 

The soil around your foundation is filled with water, and even the smallest crack will allow this groundwater to seep into your basement. The first step to repairing a leaky wall crack is installing one of our drainage systems. We then use an industry-changing polyurethane sealant called FlexiSpan to seal the crack. This flexible sealant will never dry or crack and can flex to the natural movement of your foundation wall, ensuring a completely waterproofing seal with a warranty for the lifetime of the home. For this particular job in Taunton, we recommended adding a layer of CleanSpace Wall (a 20 mil vapor barrier) for additional protection.

This 3-foot concrete basement was getting water that was starting to seep over onto the finished side. We installed a SuperSump to pump the water out before it did any damage on the other side of the basement
