This Maple Grove, MN crawl space had our customer, a new home buyer concerned with moist dirt floor underneath the home.  Very interested in purchasing this home, he contacted the professionals at Complete Basement Systems for an inspection of the crawl space to provide a professional opinion of what needed to be done to ensure safety.

Our System Design Specialist, Ryan Brenner, quickly came to evaluate the situation.  He concluded that the crawl space needed a CleanSpace Liner to create a safer enviornment for the rest of the home.  With a plan set, Ben Heldt and his production team came to the home start the project.

CleanSpace Liner and CleanSpace Drainage Matting were installed to fully encapsulate the crawl space with a 20 mil thick liner along the walls and floor of the dirt crawl space.  

Having a dirt crawl space under a home is a very bad idea.  The earth has high humidity in the soil and the water vapor moves easily into the crawl space and upwards into the house enviornment.  Mold thrives in this enviornment.  With the CleanSpace System has an UltraFresh antimicrobial protection built in to prevent mold growth.  The CleanSpace System has a 25 year warranty as well.

Before:

This crawlspace was originally covered with a thin, low-quality plastic sheet that did little to protect the home from moisture, odors, or pests. The material was easily torn, poorly sealed, and offered no long-term durability, which allowed humidity and potential air quality issues in the home.

After:

We removed the flimsy liner and replaced it with our durable CleanSpace Encapsulation System. CleanSpace is a heavy-duty, 20-mil vapor barrier that is specifically engineered to seal out moisture and create a clean, dry, and energy-efficient environment beneath the home. Unlike the old plastic, CleanSpace is installed with proper sealing, anchoring, and overlapping, creating a continuous barrier across the floor and up the walls. The result? A protected, healthier crawlspace that adds value and peace of mind for years to come.

A free estimate was scheduled with Mark to meet with our system design specialist to look at the troubled crawl space and determine a solution for him.  

A CleanSpace liner that protects the vapor transmission and water from the concrete block in the crawl space to prevent mold and standing water was installed along with a drainage matting liner underneath the CleanSpace to channel any water seepage into a smartdrain that was installed to collect the water. 

Our customer can now utilize his concrete crawl space for added storage space in his home and have peace of mind that his items are protected.  

For years this Plymouth home suffered from cracks in the foundation, which caused water damage, air pollutants, and a headache for the homeowners.  Design Specialist Jason Galles worked with the homeowners to design a plan that was both within their budget and accomplished their goals of ensuring that their basement walls worked the way they needed to in order to support the home for years to come.
