Problem: This sump pump does not have an air-tight lid and is letting lots of humidity into the basement because water is almost always resting in the bottom of the sump liner.
Solution: We installed a customer lid, a new submersible pump and a battery back-up pumping system.

Problem: This poured concrete foundation has a hairline crack which is letting water in. The fiberglass insulation is soaking up this water and is starting to mould. The foundation crack comes off the bottom corner of a window, which is very common due to a structural weakness.
Solution: A flexible, 3 layer, textured urethane and foam material is applied. Our patended Flexi Span comes with a 25 year warranty.

Before:
This old sump pit was crowded with two submersible pumps, one of which was installed with a flexible discharge hose. Flex-hose isn’t recommended for sump pumps, as rigid PVC or ABS piping provides far better reliability and durability.
After:
We installed a brand-new liner, replaced both submersible pumps with a powerful Zoeller M63, and added our UltraSump Battery Back-Up system for extra protection. To finish the upgrade, we sealed the pit with a two-piece, airtight lid, keeping moisture, odors, and debris out while ensuring long-lasting performance.
Before
An area in a home that can be overlooked for complete insulation coverage is the header on top of the basement walls. When it is not properly sealed with spray foam insulation, moisture can seep in and hot conditioned air can seep out.
After
Advanced Basement Systems applied 3” of 2lb closed-cell spray foam which adds R-18 insulation and a continuous vapour barrier to the header through the basement. When using Spray foam in an area that contains a combustion burning appliance (HVAC/Water Heater), a thermal barrier is required by code. In this case that was met with a paint-based coating called DC 315 applied over the spray foam.

Problem: This older home in the country had visible signs of water damage in their unfinished basement on the concrete block walls. The basement was damp and very cold during the winter months.
Solution: We installed a perimeter drain along the problem walls to safely move the leaking water to the home’s sump pump system. While not all homeowners have a need to finish their basement, an unfinished basement can affect a home's energy efficiency and comfort. Our crew also installed a ThermalDry® Wall system. It protects your finished basement from moisture and water that naturally passes through concrete foundation walls. This product serves as both a vapour barrier and also as a way to redirect water leaking through the basement walls into the new perimeter drainage system.
This radiant barrier ensures that the heat stays in the home, improving energy efficiency and comfort.
