Radon Gas is a naturally occurring, invisible, odourless, radioactive gas in soil and rocks as uranium decays overtime. When it decomposes it will travel through the dirt and seek any openings in the lower levels of the home. Its radioactive particles damage lung cells when inhaled over long term exposure and can cause lung cancer.

Problem:  Unlevel concrete poses several problems for homeowners:

• Tripping hazard, particularly in high traffic areas
• When concrete sloped towards the home, it can increase the likelihood of water penetration into the basement or crawlspace
• Unsightly and unattractive; affecting the enjoyment of this patio area

Solution:  We raised and levelled the sunken concrete slabs with PolyLevel.

We removed all the old fiberglass insulation. Why? It's not the correct insulation type, for a variety of reasons. Blown-in cellulose is the appropriate application. Along with that, the pipe and wire penetrations that come into the attic are not air-tight. We need to access all of these point to ensure heat loss is at a minimum! This insulation is also full of mouse droppings (mice love pink fiberglass).
Once the removal, air sealing and new baffles are completed, the new blown-in cellulose can be installed.
