Basement Drainage Breakdown

Above depicts a clogged exterior footing drain. And this clogs more and more around the entire perimeter of your house.
And it doesn't drain water any more. The water then builds up in the backfill and causes hydrostatic pressure which pushes the water into the basement through cracks and joints, most commonly the floor-wall joint.
