For the past few years, Annette and Thomas have had a drafty house. Their home is especially cooler in the winter because their crawl space isn't properly sealed off. So our team insulated their rim joists. Small cracks and seams can exist around rim joists, but after insulating them all of those cracks are sealed off. Now airflow is restricted keeping outside air out and inside air in. Annette and Thomas will no longer have to worry about their home being cold during the long winter months in Michigan.
This basement didn't often have water collecting in it but it definitely felt moist and it smelled musty. Our team had the fix. We installed a perimeter water proofing system along the base of the walls to collect and measurable amount of water seeping in. We then installed a SuperSump system to create a mechanism for that water to removed from the home. We then put BrightWall paneling on the walls. This paneling not only brightens up a room at a low cost but it also acts as a vapor barrier and allows any moisture to flow freely behind the paneling into the drainage system without the homeowner ever really knowing that its happening. Finally, we put a SaniDry XP dehumidifier in the space to remove water vapors from the basement and keep the space smelling great. The runoff from the dehumidifier will flow right into the sump system and out of the home.
When water started seeping through the egress window in this Galesburg, MI home, the homeowners' two-year-old son lost his basement playroom to moisture and flooding. They wanted a solution that focused solely on the issue without unnecessary add-ons, so they turned to us for help.
We installed a window well duct drain to catch and direct water into the WaterGuard drainage system, which then carried it to the SuperSump Plus. The sump pump efficiently removed the water from the home, ensuring their basement stayed dry and protected.
Now, their basement is dry, their son has his playroom back, and their home is safeguarded against future water issues!
Randy moved into his home and realized the windows in his basement didn't allow for an easy escape. Safety in his home is a top priority for Randy, so he researched and called Ayers for help. Our crew of professionals visited to evaluate the space and recommended installing an egress window. Having an easy escape from the basement during an emergency is integral and our egress windows include stair steps, easy-open windows, and a polycarbonate safety cover to prevent surface falls. Randy loves his new escape plan!
A customer called our team because she had water entering her crawl space. So we installed SilverGlo, a set of waterproof foam panels used on the walls of your crawl space in order to insulate it. Uninsulated crawl spaces cost you money each year by increasing your heating and cooling bills. SilverGlo blocks all moisture and is made of inorganic material which prevents mold, rot or mildew from forming. Overall, it will keep your crawl space dry and insulated which will save you lots of money over the years.
