Our Design Specialist, Nikki Burke, recommended installing SmartJacks to support the home and stabilize the floors. This homeowner already had Lally columns all throughout her basement, but they could not provide the proper support that was needed. SmartJacks offer more support by inserting a galvanized steel plate into the foundation. This steel plate sits on a sturdy base of crushed stone. The galvanized steel post is then attached to the plate, and also connects to a supplemental beam. Once installed, they are cemented in place.

The SmartJacks not only prevented the floor from sinking further, but they also raised and leveled the floor as well. This homeowner was thrilled that the sagging and uneven floors had been fixed, and that the structure of her home is now properly supported!

In Melrose, MA, this homeowner reached out to us concerned about their deteriorating fieldstone foundation wall, which was nearing failure. The situation is clearly depicted in the 'before' photo. To address this, we expertly removed the compromised section, replacing it with a sturdy brick-and-mortar foundation block wall, as shown in the 'after' photo. The owner of a home in Newburyport, Massachusetts, just purchased their home and has already begun removing the back porch and addition so they could create a large back porch. To properly stabilize the porch the homeowner called EFS about us installing our Helical Piers. Our Design Specialist met with the homeowner and recommended installing 16 Helical Deck Piers to stabilize the future porch.
