A new owner of an old home in Manchester, New Hampshire, had just moved in this summer and was planning on using the basement for storage. The basement was a combination of dirt and concrete. They were placing items down there while they were moving in and noticed the floors were being held by a few different types of supports. (lally columns, brick supports, 4x4s, and 6x6s) The homeowners could see that additional supports were installed over time. To make sure that their floor system was fully supported they called EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist met with the homeowners looked at the floor system and determined that a few sections of the basement weren't fully supported. We recommended installing 3 SmartJacks and a supplemental beam into the basement to stabilize the floor system. 

A homeowner in Manchester, New Hampshire, purchased their home in August 2022. Recently they have noticed some bounciness in their floor system. This home in Manchester, NH was dealing with very wet soil on the property due to a wet, rainy year. The saturated soils on the exterior of the foundation walls were pushing against the concrete and causing it to crack and bow into the basement. The project included rebuilding a section of wall, installing a waterproofing sump pump system, and reinforcing a section of foundation wall with PowerBrace wall anchors. 

This before and after features a view of the wall anchors installed in one section of the basement. The wall cracks are visible, and were caused by soils pushing against it with incredible force. With the PowerBrace supports in place, the concrete wall is permanently stabilized and will not bow in any further. The water is now also diverted to a sump pump system, which will help relieve the pressure in the soil.

This homeowner in Manchester, New Hampshire, had a 20-year-old crack in their basement wall. They had the crack repaired around 20 years ago. Now the crack has started leaking again. The homeowner wanted a permanent fix so they called Erickson Foundation Supportworks. Design Specialist Paul Magowan came to the home and inspected the crack. Josh Provost was the Crew Lead on this project. He and his team were able to make a permanent fix to the crack in their basement.
