Robert in Farmville, Virginia was concerned with the floors in his home being properly supported. He had noticed slight bouncing and gaps between the floor and walls, all signs of issues stemming from his crawl space. Upon inspection we found that high humidity had weakened the main beam and several joists under his home. Travis and Jack, one of our expert crews, went out and installed 2 of our SmartJack Floor Support jacks + a steel supplemental beam to properly support the floors above. We also sistered several failing joists for added protection.
Christina, a homeowner in Palmyra, Virginia, reached out to us to see about solutions for her crawl space. We went out and performed an inspection and found standing water and high humidity. If left alone, these issues could weaken the structure under her home and cause lasting, expensive damage. Travis, Jack, and Mickey went out later and installed a full encapsulation system to seal off the crawl space from the outside air and keep water out. They started by spraying MoldX to remove organic growth that had appeared on the wooden joists. They then put in our EzFlow Drainage System, SuperSump Sump Pump, and CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to fully enclose the space. We also added a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to control humidity.
In Hedgesville, WV, Stephen's future home faced significant crawl space issues, as seen in the 'before' photo. Fungal growth and mold were a concern, but at Fortress Foundation Solutions, we have the expertise to address such problems. We implemented our CleanSpace encapsulation system, SilverGlo insulation, and SmartJack support posts to reinforce the area structurally. Together with the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, these solutions transformed the crawl space into a dry, stable environment, providing the sturdy foundation essential for a safe and healthy home.
In Stephenson, Katie had been dealing with ongoing moisture problems in her large 1,700-square-foot crawl space. Excess humidity and water intrusion were creating concerns about air quality, energy efficiency, and potential long-term damage beneath the home. During our inspection, we found standing moisture, poor drainage, and consistently high humidity levels throughout the crawl space.
Scott and the crew installed a complete crawl space encapsulation system designed to permanently control moisture and protect the home. An EZ Flow drainage system was added to direct water away from the crawl space, along with two TripleSafe™ sump pumps for reliable water removal and backup protection.
To fully seal the space, we installed our CleanSpace® vapor barrier to lock out ground moisture and create a clean, controlled environment. SilverGlo™ wall insulation was added to improve energy efficiency and temperature regulation, while two SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifiers were installed to maintain healthy humidity levels throughout the crawl space.
As shown in the after photos, the crawl space is now clean, dry, and fully protected—giving Katie a healthier, more energy-efficient home with long-lasting moisture protection.
