As you may be able to tell from the before and after images, the previous vapor barrier that was installed in this crawl space wasn't exactly doing its job. Full of tears, covered in mud, and pulled away from the soil it was supposed to creating a barrier over, it was clear that this moisture preventing method was not going to work. After a visit from one of our design specialists, the homeowners were introduced to a much better and permanent form of protection - the encapsulation system. This includes a crawl space dehumidifier, a sump pump system, and a massive barrier upgrade with our CleanSpace Liner!

Unlike your standard vapor barrier, our CleanSpace Liner doesn't miss a spot in the crawl space! Tightly secured to the floors, walls and supports of the crawl space, it plays a large part in sealing off the underside of the home from the outside, humid air. Combined with our crawl space dehumidifier, a sump pump, and an airtight door, this creates the encapsulation system, perfect for protecting a home from moisture and the dangers it brings.

This crawl space had been left unattended to for quite some time and eventually became a mess. The air was humid, the ground was completely exposed, and insulation was falling all throughout the underside of the home. There once was an attempt to combat this with a standard vapor barrier, but that did not manage to take care of the issue, and as you can see in the before image, it had resulted in a mess. After a thorough inspection from one of our design specialists, the homeowners decided to let us work our magic and bring in a real and permanent solution. We replaced the old vapor barrier with much a more durable and secure CleanSpace Liner. In the after image, you can also see our dehumidification and sump pump systems, both strategically involved to lower humidity and moisture content, thus lowering risk under the home. Great job team!
