In Chunky, MS, the homeowner was troubled by a consistently damp and unprotected crawl space, evident in the before photo. This space was, like many, battling moisture issues that could lead to wood rot, mold, and higher energy bills. This Petal homeowner called for an inspection because they were having some moisture and mold issues under their house. This was due to having a dirt crawlspace and open venting. Originally, it was thought that vents would circulate dry air throughout the crawlspace, thus keeping it dry. That is false. Once air enters the crawlspace, it is trapped, making the humidity levels rise. All this humid air will travel up into your home making the AC units work harder to keep up with the draft. 

Our encapsulation system totally seals off the crawlspace so humid air stays where it belongs; outside. We install a sump pump in the ground to rid the crawlspace of ground water seepage. Then, we install our 20 mil liner and waterproof the ground and walls. Topping it off, we put a dehumidifier in to keep the air dry and healthy. This system together is proven to regulate the crawlspace atmosphere and prevent moisture from building up and creating issues. 

Both these images were taken inside the same crawlspace in Collinsville, MS, and clearly show the drastic difference between a standard vapor barrier and our Cleanspace Liner. The original vapor barrier wasn't able to do its job of acting as a barrier between the moist dirt and crawlspace itself. You can see where it has pulled away from the edges and begun deteriorating. Our Cleanspace Liner on the otherhand, is fastened securely to both the walls and floor of the crawlspace, making ground water seepage impossible.

These two images showcase many positive differences that came about in this crawl space through our company. A previous attempt had been made to take care of the underside's moisture problems with a standard vapor barrier, but as you can see, it has shifted, pulled away, and left many exposed areas of the crawl space floor. To replace this, we put in our CleanSpace Liner. As you can see, this new upgrade is fastened to not only the crawl space floor, but the walls and supports of the crawl space as well. The underside of the home now has a dehumidification and sump pump system installed, offering even more protection against moisture from different sources. Finally, you can see our SmartJacks, permanent and durable jacks perfect for supporting the floors that unfortunately faced some damage from the moisture. This crawlspace in Ovett, Mississippi looks much nicer now that our Cleanspace Vapor Barrier is covering the exposed dirt and all the now no-longer needed insulation has been removed.
