This interior entrance to the crawlspace had fiberglass insulation strapped to it to try to provide insulation. But after absorbing moisture from the crawlspace, it had been tied up repeatedly so it wouldn't droop to the floor below. This was allowing mold spores to grow on this entrance door. A full encapsulation removes the need for any fiberglass and uses insulation made to last!

Water problems in the crawlspace can lead to many issues, including water stains on the old vapor barrier, moldy and drooping fiberglass insulation, and a build up of calcium deposits. To combat these issues, this homeowner decided to have a full encapsulation, turning their crawlspace into a dry and healthy space! 

This crawlspace was damp and muddy. The dried mud was caked over the old vapor barrier and water was seeping through the foundation walls. This water content had caused the old fiberglass insulation to droop, leading to mold spores and a reduced insulation value.
