Fallen Fiberglass in Carson, WA

This homes heating and cooling costs were on the rise. They knew their floor was cold in the morning, and heard that this could be a sign that the insulation in the crawlspace was failing. They glanced into the crawlspace and saw most of their old fiberglass was resting on the dirt floor... adding no insulation to the home. After searching online they learned that this is common, as fiberglass absorbs water and once heavy, it just falls down. They decided to insulate with an encapsulation and are happy to to report their homes energy costs have gone down and their home is staying more comfortable year round.

To address this they wanted a long term solution, and were eager to have a full encapsulation installed.

Layer of Mud on the Old Vapor Barrier - Cornelius, OR

This homeowner had a simple 6 Mil vapor barrier in the crawlspace. They knew every year it would need to be replaced. When heavy rains hit, it always brought mud on top of the vapor barrier. They wanted to know what else they could do to prolong the life of the 6 Mil vapor barrier, so they called John's Waterproofing. While they weren't ready for an encapsulation, they did have us install a full drainage system, TripleSafe sump pump, and lay down a new 6 Mil Vapor Barrier. This will keep water from bringing mud over the plastic, letting it last a bit longer between each replacement.
